Hegazy consolidates his control over the nation and transforms it into a military dictatorship. If this occurs, Egyptian general Mahmoud Hegazy, fearing the country will descend into another civil war, launches a military coup against the government. Should the United Arab Republic win its civil war it has the option to ban Bashar al-Assad from running for election.
